These days, just the words ‘energy bill’ are enough to make you panic. With the price of energy fluctuating so much in recent years, it’s been hard for many UK residents to stay on top of their bills, let alone save money on them. Because of this, comparing energy providers has become more important than ever, as it gives you the information you need to save money.

The downside of comparing though, is the time it takes. Despite endlessly searching, filling in loads of forms, and handing over your personal information to several different companies, you still can’t be sure you’re getting the best deal.

This, you might have guessed, is where we come in. We help simplify the whole process with one simple form and one simple search. We also only ask for your details once and, best of all, our partners will present you with a deal that works for you.

Energy Deals Top Tips

We’re proud to have served a large and growing customer base with our top-rated customer service.

As you already know, multiple companies can provide energy to your home, and it’s your choice. Providers like British Gas, EDF, and Octopus are some of the big players in the industry, with many of the smaller companies having gone bust during the energy crisis between 2021 and 2023.

Each supplier will offer different tariffs (also known as pricing plans), which determine how much you pay for your energy. Your tariff could be fixed or variable, which means it’ll either be fixed for the contract length or will change with wholesale prices.

Whichever type of tariff you choose, and from whichever supplier you get it from, the price you pay will be capped. The energy price cap protects you from the highest costs of energy and is reviewed four times a year by Ofgem.

Energy companies can offer different rates for different tariffs, as well as different contract lengths and different levels of customer service. That last one is a deal breaker for many consumers, as having a dependable energy supplier for when things go wrong is key.

For your convenience, we’ve summed up some of the key things to look out for when you’re choosing an energy supplier:

  • Value for money
  • Tariff type
  • Exit fees
  • Customer service
  • Carbon footprint

Frequently Asked Questions

What factors affect my energy bills?

Multiple things affect how much you pay for your energy. The main factor is the amount of gas and electricity you use in your home. As well as that, there’s the type of property you live in, how efficient it is, and how many people live there.

Regardless of the energy provider you choose, the more energy you use, the higher your bill will be.

Energy prices are historically high due to global events that have affected the price of gas, which is used to heat homes and generate electricity.

The price of wholesale gas in Europe reached record highs in 2022, and while prices have started to come down, they remain high.
