WHY YOU SHOULD UPGRADE TO
SOLAR PANELS?

When you’ve got solar panels, the power in your home is yours; owned by you, used by you, and kept by you. Nobody gets to charge you for it. Even better, as long the sun doesn’t get taxed, it won’t ever cost a penny to produce the power you use through your solar panels. You could even look to explore selling energy back to the national grid!

That’s not even where the good news ends! The UK government offers various discounts and grants for people who want to install solar panels. The ECO4 scheme, for example, even provides free solar panels to eligible households. Other schemes cut the VAT on solar panels for residential properties, while others offer up to £18,000 towards solar panel installation.

We’re proud to have already helped many customers explore their solar panel options. To find out how we do this, read the steps below. It is really this simple…

Which Type of Solar Panel Installation Do You Want?

As you can probably tell from the name, an off-grid solar panel installation is where your solar panels, and the energy they produce, are completely unconnected to the national grid. They are ideal for houses that aren’t located near a built-up area that would otherwise struggle to get a power supply.

With an off-grid system, you can live wherever you want and, as long as there’s sunlight, you’ll have power. Systems like this are, however, generally more expensive.

As you’ve probably guessed from reading the above, grid-tied solar panel systems are integrated into the power grid. With grid-tied systems, your power is supplemented by the power grid, as well as by a backup battery, so you don’t have to worry about losing power in the vast majority of circumstances.

However, grid-tied systems don’t allow you to ditch your external electricity provider completely, so you will still have an electricity bill due each month.

Solar batteries fall somewhere between grid-tied and off-grid systems. Essentially, they protect your home from power outages. They function like a normal grid-tie system but also feature a solar battery bank that takes over in case of outages. They are ideal if you live in an area that’s prone to storms, as they give you an extra layer of protection against power outages.

Who are we?

We are Consumer Experts, and we are dedicated to helping people across the UK compare and save on a range of essential services. We do this by working with industry leaders to provide you with quotes tailored to you and your unique needs.

By using your personal details, we’re able to ensure that the offer you get suits you. Your own needs are different to those of someone else, and we believe in getting you not just a deal but one that meets your needs.

This depends on the size of your house, but a 4kW PV system (which is suitable for a three-bedroom house) costs around £6,000 once you account for installation. That’s a big number, but there are ways to make it smaller. That number, for example, doesn’t include the reductions you might be entitled to from the government.

You can also pay for your solar panels in installments, which, while you pay more overall, makes the payments more manageable.

Right here. ConsumerExperts.com is the best place to find a deal on your solar panels. We take your basic information and, on your behalf, go through several solar panel providers to get you the best-tailored deal available to you. Sounds good? Complete our form by clicking the button on the left.
